The same rules and expectations for court hearings apply whether you’re in person or on a Zoom call. More specifically, attorneys and litigants must follow the same level of decorum at a Zoom court hearing as they would in the courtroom. This includes dressing appropriately, refraining from smoking, and all other behaviors that would be expected at an in-person hearing.
What is less easily applicable to the Zoom realm of court proceedings is the attorney-client relationship. Simple communications between an attorney and their client are much more difficult over Zoom given the nature of the video call itself. Attorney Sonya Zeigler explains in more detail on SJMag’s latest episode of the Family Law Roundtable series. Watch now for more information.
